Why Us?

Blood & Marrow Transplant Program

We are the only accredited Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program in the Valley. That means highest standards for care. Our BMT program has survival rates in the top 5% nationally with a one year survival consistently greater than 90%.

As the only freestanding children's hospital in Arizona with a bone marrow transplant program, we offer comprehensive care for pre-transplant through long-term post-transplant needs.

Our program performs transplants for malignant diseases such as acute and chronic leukemias, neuroblastoma, brain tumors as well as non-malignant diseases including sickle cell disease, immune deficiencies and inherited metabolic diseases. Each patient is assigned a transplant team that includes doctors, nurses, physician assistants, dietitians, physical therapists and more. We’re committed to patient recovery and can bring the experience and skills needed to educate families and guide patients through successful treatment.

An outstanding national reputation

Our hospital is a National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) transplant site, and our Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program is an active participant in national research consortiums such as the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant Consortium (PBMTC), and the Clinical Trials Network (CTN). And our specialists team is always conducting research, including into cellular therapy.
