Pediatrician Andrea DeMets, MD, is originally from Wisconsin. She planned on using her love for science as a veterinarian, but that changed when she earned conditional admission to medical school as a high school senior. There, she discovered her true passion: caring for kids!
She completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and did her pediatric internship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She returned to the University of Wisconsin for her residency training. She is a fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics and has been practicing pediatrics since 2005.
Dr. DeMets treats the whole child, not only their physical health but their mental and behavioral health too. Her reward is connecting with families and "watching a newborn turn into a curious toddler, a school-age kid and finally a young adult," she says.
