Dr. Jarred Gallegos is a board-certified psychologist at Phoenix Children's. He provides support and guidance to families navigating fetal and neonatal medical care. His goal is to reduce barriers to parental bonding and help promote well-being and coping for the family.

The exemplary training opportunities provided within the Psychology department drew Dr. Gallegos to Phoenix Children's.

Dr. Gallegos earned his Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2015. He then furthered his education at West Virginia University, earning a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2017 and his PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2020. Dr. Gallegos completed both a pediatric psychology internship and a residency at Phoenix Children's. He is certified as a perinatal mental health counselor by Postpartum Support International.

In addition to his work with families, Dr. Gallegos serves as the co-chair for the Society of Pediatric Psychology-Neonatology Special Interest Group training subcommittee. He is also co-chair of the training and education committee for the National Network of NICU Psychologists.

Dr. Gallegos has authored several publications throughout his career. In addition, he recently presented at the National Network of NICU Psychologists Annual Conference (2022) and the Phoenix Children's Fetal Cardiology Symposium (2021).

Outside his practice, Dr. Gallegos enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as his two dogs.
