Alexander “Scanner” Cheung, MD, is a PGY-3 neurosurgery resident at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from Stanford University and completed his medical degree at the NYU School of Medicine, where his research centered on data science, machine learning, and computational biology.

Dr. Cheung’s clinical interests include movement disorders, epilepsy, pain, and the restoration of neurological function through novel brain–computer interface technologies.
