Genetics & Metabolism
Our Genetics and Metabolism Department, the only one of its kind in Arizona, offers thorough evaluation, diagnostic, treatment and follow-up services for children and families with known or suspected genetic conditions. Our services include genetic counseling for diagnosed syndromes, medical genetics team evaluations and state-of-the-art genetic diagnostic laboratory testing.
Renowned care in your backyard
We participate in several multi-specialty care teams, including the 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, genoderm and skeletal dysplasia clinics. Our Genetics and Metabolism Department is a Lysosomal Disease Treatment Center, and our staff serves as the medical consultants for the Arizona State Newborn Screening Program, the only one of its kind in Arizona. We are currently staffed by six medical geneticists, three board-certified genetic counselors, two metabolic dietitians and two nurse practitioners.
