Conditions We Treat

Immunohematology Clinic (IHC)

Patients with any or multiple of the following symptoms would be ideal candidates for referral to the IHC:

  • Recurrent bacterial infections
  • Recurrent viral infections
  • Recurrent candidiasis
  • History of severe infection (e.g. meningitis, sepsis)
  • Early onset inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
  • Severe/treatment refractory IBD 
  • Recurrent abscesses
  • Organ abscess
  • Hypogammaglobulinemia
  • Lymphopenia
  • Positive T-cell receptor excision circle (TREC) newborn screen
  • Idiopathic thrombocytopenia (diagnosed at less than 18 months of age)
  • Recurrent cytopenias
  • Severe/treatment refractory eczema
  • Chronic or recurrent lymphadenopathy
  • Bone marrow failure
