Gastroenterology and GI Surgery

Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Nutrition and GI Surgery

Gastrointestinal (GI) problems can happen to anyone. But they can be especially challenging for children and teens. At Phoenix Children’s, our pediatric gastroenterologists have advanced training and expertise to care for children with GI conditions, from the straightforward to the complex.

Phoenix Children’s is home to the largest pediatric GI group in Arizona, with 21 gastroenterologists and four nurse practitioners. These experts are dedicated to helping your child experience the best health possible and live life to the fullest.

Specialized Clinics for More Complex Concerns

Appointments are available at Phoenix Children’s and other locations throughout the region. In addition to seeing children and teens with general GI concerns, we care for complex conditions through our multidisciplinary clinics. These clinics bring together doctors and other providers from different specialty areas to treat:

  • Aerodigestive conditions
  • Celiac disease
  • Conditions of the foregut
  • Eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (including eosinophilic esophagitis)
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis)
  • Motility disorders
  • Short bowel syndrome (sometimes called short gut syndrome)
  • Therapeutic endoscopy
  • Hepatology
  • Liver transplant
