Gracie has always been a fighter. Born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, she was admitted to Phoenix Children's when she was 3 days old and underwent her first lifesaving heart surgery a few days later. Three months later, she received a heart transplant.
At first, she flourished with her new heart. But when Gracie was 4, she unexpectedly suffered a stroke and lost function on her right side. Her family turned to Phoenix Children’s once again, this time for physical, occupational and speech therapy to restore what was lost.
Despite all of this, Gracie’s story isn’t a sad one. It’s a hopeful one. It’s the story of a little hero fighting a big fight.
Watch now to see how Phoenix Children’s has helped Gracie and her family navigate the challenges she’s faced.
