Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Epilepsy Program is on the cutting edge of diagnosing and treating pediatric epilepsy.
Just recently, the Institute was the first in the world to use Medtronic’s Stealth Autoguide cranial robotic guidance platform allowing for submillimeter neurosurgical precision and less time in the operating room, which means less time under anesthesia and less risk for infection. Our use of robotic assistance even caught the attention of the Robotics Business Review.
Additionally, Barrow at Phoenix Children’s, a National Association of Epilepsy Center’s Level 4 center (the highest accreditation), also offers neuromodulation options such as vagal nerve stimulation implants and the novel responsive neurostimulation (RNS), like in Kate’s case.
