PHOENIX [Dec. 27, 2021] – Phoenix Children’s, one of the nation’s largest pediatric health care systems and the only freestanding children’s hospital in Arizona, announced today that Carlyle “Cary” Hall and Emilia Keric have joined as legal counsel. Hall will serve as chief risk and litigation counsel and Keric will serve as associate general counsel.

In Hall’s role as chief risk and litigation counsel at Phoenix Children’s, he will have overall responsibility for the health system’s risk management operations, including oversight of its risk identification and mitigation activities. He joins Phoenix Children’s from Polsinelli PC, a national law firm with expertise in health care, financial services, litigation and real estate, where he served as co-chair for Polsinelli’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group and chair of the Litigation Department Business Division.
While at Polsinelli, Hall worked as lead trial counsel for clients, including health care systems, and served as outside general counsel to several clients, assisting them with business strategy, risk avoidance, contract negotiation and other legal issues. He earned a bachelor’s degree from University of California San Diego, and a law degree from Loyola Law School.
In Keric’s role as associate general counsel at Phoenix Children’s, she will provide a wide range of in-house legal services for the health system and will provide direct support for medical staff affairs and legal, compliance and regulatory matters. She brings more than a decade of experience in health care law, risk and compliance to this position. Keric joins Phoenix Children’s from CommUnityCare, the largest federally qualified health center in Texas, comprised of 31 clinics, where she managed all legal affairs for the organization and served as chief risk officer, general counsel and compliance officer. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Chicago, and a law degree from New York Law School.
