Summer Camp during COVID-19? Go Virtual!

It has been months since Arizona first shut down, yet COVID-19 continues to impact every aspect of daily life. Unfortunately, our state has also become a hotbed for the virus. Local authorities are now mandating masks and social distancing and are strongly encouraging people to stay home whenever possible.

This new normal is hard on everyone – especially children. Instead of visiting waterparks, enjoying trips to the movie theater, playing at friends’ houses and going to summer camps, kids are stuck at home – and parents are struck trying to keep their children busy (often trying to juggle work at the same time).

Fortunately, children’s organizations across the state have responded to the crisis and have transitioned their summer camp programming to online formatting. This enables kids to learn new skills, socialize with others and engage in their favorite activities – all while heeding expert guidance to continue social distancing to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Raising Arizona Kids has rounded up virtual summer camp options for kids with all sorts interests – from animal lovers and budding scientists to artists, musicians and future thespians. Learn more here!
