The Child Life Zone is a unique, state-of-the-art therapeutic space where kids can be kids. It is a place designed for playing, creating, learning and connecting with others. Located on the first floor of the East Building, this procedure-free area gives patients and families the opportunity to enjoy time together in a fun and comfortable environment. The Zone is known as “the happiest place” for children visiting the Thomas Campus.

  • Patients must be ages 6 years and older
  • Both inpatients and outpatients are welcome
  • Patients must not be on isolation precautions
  • Nurse approval and a Zone sticker is required for inpatients only
  • A patient’s siblings who are 6 years and older are also welcome when accompanied by a parent
The Stage in The Zone

Teammates for Kids Foundation

The Child Life Zone is made possible by a generous endowment from Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids Foundation, which provided funding for the construction of the Zone. Teammates is a large network of professional athletes who donate funds based on their performance. All overhead costs are paid by members of the organization's board so that 100% of the money raised goes directly to children's charities.
