About Alexandra G. Vanatta, MD

Alexandra (Ali) Vanatta, MD, is a pediatrician at Phoenix Children's Pediatrics - Scottsdale. In addition to general pediatric care, Dr. Vanatta has a special interest in working with patients who have been diagnosed with complex medical conditions, autism and learning disorders. Dr. Vanatta provides medical expertise with a personal touch. Her goal is to create lasting connections with her patients in a nurturing environment that prioritizes the health and happiness of every child in her care.

Dr. Vanatta is grateful to be part of the caring team at Phoenix Children's, where she works closely with pediatric specialists who offer advanced care for children and adolescents with chronic or serious medical conditions. A native of Scottsdale, Arizona, Dr. Vanatta enjoys working in the area where she grew up.

After earning her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, Dr. Vanatta completed her medical training through the pediatric residency program at Phoenix Children's and Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. During her residency training, Dr. Vanatta initiated an award-winning quality improvement project to enhance the hospital's discharge summaries for children with complex medical conditions. Her project improved communication between inpatient and outpatient providers, resulting in more efficient care for patients.

Dr. Vanatta is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by her father, an interventional cardiologist. Dr. Vanatta brings a detail-oriented approach to every patient exam, serving as an integral part of their full healthcare experience. Dedicated to caring for her patients throughout their developmental journey, she celebrates life's milestones with each patient - from the delicate days of infancy to the celebratory moment of high school graduation.

Family values are a central focus for Dr. Vanatta, and she cherishes quality time spent with her husband and daughter, as well as with her extended family that includes more than a dozen nieces and nephews.
