About Alicia J. Goodman, PhD

Alicia Goodman, PhD, is a licensed psychologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Goodman is a nationally certified school psychologist and has a clinical interest in diagnosing and treating children with tics, Tourette syndrome, selective mutism and obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), as well as social and general anxiety disorders.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, Dr. Goodman earned both her master's degree and her doctorate degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

Before joining Phoenix Children's, Dr. Goodman owned and served as clinical director of a private children's mental health practice. She has experience helping young children and teens with anxiety, selective mutism, autism and a variety of other mental health disorders ranging from common to complex.

Dr. Goodman has been an invited presenter at the Arizona Speech and Hearing Association's annual convention as well as at national conferences for the Tourette Association of America and the Selective Mutism Association. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Association of School Psychologists, the Arizona Association of School Psychologists, the Children Services Network, the Selective Mutism Association, the Tourette Association of America and the International OCD Foundation.

When treating patients, she works closely with parents and caregivers to help them feel secure and supported every step of the way. Dr. Goodman's approach to patient care includes a commitment to treating children and families with evidence-based practices to improve mental health and overall well-being.

Dr. Goodman spends her free time with her family enjoying nature and traveling. She also has an interest in designing houses.
