While volunteering in a hospital's emergency room during college, Alok Kothari, MD, saw the impact that his love for science and medicine could make in children's lives. "Seeing the nurses, doctors and staff work to care for some of the sickest patients reaffirmed my decision to go into medicine," Dr. Kothari says.
As a specialist in solid tumor oncology, Dr. Kothari believes every patient's situation is unique. He approaches patient care with a combination of knowledge, expertise and experience, providing the best-known treatment for each child.
The opportunity to join a well-known hospital's "talented, motivated and growing group of professionals" led Dr. Kothari to Phoenix Children's. He loves interacting with patients, families and staff and feeling part of one big team.
Dr. Kothari enjoys cooking and trying new foods in his free time. He balances out the extra calories with plenty of exercise.
