About Amy M. Schaefer, PsyD
Amy Schaefer, PsyD, is a pediatric psychologist at Phoenix Children's who works to meet the mental health care needs of children who are admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. She has specialized training to help her patients cope with conditions including chronic illness and pain.
After earning her undergraduate degree in psychology at State University of New York (SUNY) College at Geneseo in New York, Dr. Schaefer graduated with a master's degree in clinical psychology from SUNY Brockport in Brockport, New York. She earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and her postgraduate training in pediatric psychology at the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's.
Dr. Schaefer is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Arizona Psychological Association. She was awarded Outstanding Postdoctoral Resident by the Arizona Psychological Foundation.
In her free time, Dr. Schaefer enjoys horseback riding, hiking, weightlifting and spending time with her family.
