Dr. LaBere knew early in life she wanted a career in science. As a babysitter, she found it rewarding to tend to kids' minor scrapes and stings. During high school, she volunteered at a hospital and realized that medicine was her path.
After earning her medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Dr. LaBere completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. She then completed an allergy and immunology fellowship through Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard University in Boston, where she was named to the Boston Combined Residency Program Fellow Teaching Honor Roll. She also received the Paul A. Dobuler Award for Excellence in Immunodeficiency Research.
Dr. LaBere is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. She also is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Clinical Immunology Society and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Through clinical research and publishing in professional journals, Dr. LaBere contributes to advancing her field in hopes of improving patients' lives.
As a mother, Dr. LaBere puts herself in parents' shoes to understand their concerns, big or small. She believes listening to patients and families, as well as treating them with respect, are essential to working together to provide the best care possible.
When she's not working, Dr. LaBere likes being outdoors as much as possible with her husband, son and dog. They enjoy family runs and exploring local parks.
