About Byron J. Garn, MD
Byron J. Garn, MD, is a cardiologist who treats heart conditions for prenatal patients through adults. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Garn performs minimally invasive heart procedures to evaluate and treat pediatric heart conditions. He also serves as director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship program at Phoenix Children's.
After graduating from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, Dr. Garn earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed a pediatric residency at Phoenix Children's and at Valleywise Health Medical Center in Phoenix. Dr. Garn completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology- as well as a fellowship in interventional cardiac catheterization and cardiac intensive care - at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
He is certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Garn is a member of the Society for Cardiac Intervention and Angiography.
Dr. Garn understands the importance of research and in making discoveries that offer patients innovative treatments and technology. He serves as the principal site director of the Gore ASSURED clinical study and has published peer-reviewed articles in professional journals.
In his free time, Dr. Garn enjoys being active in the community and spending time in the mountains and at the beach with his family.
