About Chia-Hsiang Tung, MD

Pediatrician "Winnie" Chia-Hsiang Tung, MD, was born in Taiwan and moved to Southern California when she was 5 years old.

Dr. Tung earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of California Berkeley. She then completed her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She came to Arizona to complete her residency program at Phoenix Children's Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center.

She has found that pediatric medicine combines her interest in science and her delight in children of every age. She values the relationships she builds with her patients and families and the opportunity for lifelong learning in pediatrics.

"It's fulfilling to watch these children grow alongside the parents," she says. "I learn from them every day."

When she's not caring for patients, Dr. Tung enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys arts and crafts and traveling.

Dr.Tung is absolutely amazing and always makes me feel comfortable

Since moving to Mesa we have been searching for a pediatrician that was as good as the one we previously had used for years and loved. After seeing 3 or 4 pediatricians, we finally found what we were looking for in Dr. Tung. She is happy, playful, and talkative with my children. She is knowledgeable and will do her best to figure things out and think of all possible options for what is going on. She is gentle with my children. She explains things understandably. She answers the questions I didn't know I had and doesn't wait for me to ask questions. She give me helpful information as a parent. She talks to my children instead of only to me. She spends an adequate amount of time with us even just for a well-check. I'm glad to say we have found the doctor we will be sticking with from now on!

Dr. Tongue and the whole staff at Phoenix Children's Pediatrics are amazing and make us feel cared about.

her Dr was very patient and explained things clearly

Dr Tung has been an exceptional pediatrician for the lives of our children. She is so personable and always knows our kids and their history when we come in. The staff is always friendly and prompt as well. We appreciate PCH Peds so very much.

Dr. Tung is always great at ensuring my child understand what is going on during the visit, the purpose of the visit and treatment.

Dr. Tung is always warm and friendly. My 4 yr old daughter was nervous to be at the doctor and brought a stuffed animal. Dr. Tung asked if she could first examine the unicorn to show my daughter what she would do. That really helped my daughter feel more comfortable and Dr. Tung took time to listen to her and chat with her. I did not feel rushed and appreciated the time she spent with us.
