About David H. Shafron, MD

Dr. David Shafron is a pediatric neurosurgeon with more than 20 years of experience in nearly all aspects of pediatric neurosurgery - including congenital disorders, tethered spinal cord, Chiari malformation, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, head injuries and craniosynostosis. Dr. Shafron has special interest in the neurosurgical treatment of pediatric movement disorders, such as rhizotomy for spasticity and dystonia in patients with cerebral palsy. Taking a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, he has extensive experience performing botulinum injections, phenol injections and intrathecal baclofen pumps for these complex patients. In addition to providing patient care, Dr. Shafron serves as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
