About David M. Bennett, MD

David Bennett, MD, is a board certified orthopedic and spine surgeon at Phoenix Children's, practicing in the East Valley Metro Phoenix area.

Dr. Bennet was drawn to Phoenix Children's by his desire to bring the latest and best orthopedic technology to Arizona, where he was born and raised. As a child, his younger brother's neuromuscular condition required many orthopedic surgeries to enable him to walk. The family had to fly from Phoenix to Utah for those surgeries, and Dr. Bennett was determined to bring that Utah expertise to Arizona. By working first and foremost for the patient and their family, Dr. Bennett is committed to providing the highest level of care and service to every patient he sees.

Dr. Bennett received his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Then, he returned home to the University of Arizona to complete a residency in orthopedic surgery. Later, his fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the University of Utah solidified his interest in working with children.

He served as the administrative chief resident at the University of Arizona. He was voted as a "Top Doc" by Albuquerque Magazine, recognized by his peers for excellence as a pediatric specialist. Currently, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Western Orthopaedic Association and the Scoliosis Research Society.

Dr. Bennett supplements his busy surgery schedule as an assistant professor of pediatric orthopedic surgery at the University of Arizona. There he researches innovative solutions that increase the overall quality of orthopedic care. The University of New Mexico Orthopaedics Research Journal has published several of his papers on topics including scoliosis, femur care and patella treatments. He has also written three medical textbooks, including the best-selling Fracture Healing in Children: A Review of Pediatric Osseous Modeling and Remodeling.

Formerly an Eagle Scout, Dr. Bennett also became a certified luthier (guitar builder) at age 13. Today, when he's not working, Dr. Bennett enjoys spending time with his family, playing the guitar and 3D printing.

I'm glad I changed my doctor to doctor Bennet,he explains everything so well and he cares about he's patients .I give him five stars

Our experience with Doctor Bennett With our granddaughter doing her surgery Was excellent. In knowing she's going to have a good quality of life now. Our virtual session yesterday we had went very well. We cannot thank doctor Bennett enough we are so grateful to him. Thank you again.

Dr Bennett is awesome and has been each visit

We greatly appreciated Dr. Bennett seeing us remotely. The procedure we are researching is not available in our state. He was sincere and caring and explained all the options really well. It was our first visit but we very quickly felt comfortable, like he'd been my son's doctor his whole life. The after visit summary we received was very thorough and helpful too.

Doctor Bennett has been incredible since we first met him. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, and very empathetic to parents and patients. Nobody new parent wants to hear upsetting news about their child's health, but Dr. Bennett was very thoughtful and positive about my child's care. His knowledge and care has helped over the past year and my daughter's condition has improved dramatically. He's a great doctor, and i'm so glad I was able to have him through what could have been a very rough time.

We love Dr B and his staff!!
