About Dhanalakshmi Angappan, MD
Dhanalakshmi Angappan, MD, is a pediatric neurologist at Phoenix Children's. She treats the full range of neurological conditions that affect children including headaches, seizures, syncope (fainting), developmental delays, neuroimmunology and demyelinating diseases such a multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Angappan earned her medical degree and completed a medical internship at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Puducherry, India. She trained as a pediatric resident at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India, and at The MetroHealth System through Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Dr. Angappan completed her fellowship training in pediatric neurology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Angappan is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Child Neurology Society, the American Headache Society and the International Child Neurology Association. She has been a presenter at the American Academy of Neurology annual meetings, as well as conferences hosted by the Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS) and the Child Neurology Society.
A committed researcher in the field of pediatric neurology, Dr. Angappan's work has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals including The Lancet, The Lancet Neurology, Children, Frontiers in Pediatrics and the European Journal of Pediatric Neurology.
In her free time, Dr. Angappan enjoys cooking, traveling and spending quality time with her children.
