Elyssa P. Rosenthal, MD, MPH, is a pediatric ophthalmologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Rosenthal is skilled in diagnosing and treating eye conditions and disorders including strabismus.
Dr. Rosenthal joined Phoenix Children's after gaining vast experience as a pediatric eye specialist in the Phoenix area for nearly two decades.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. Rosenthal earned her Master of Public Health degree from New York University in New York and her medical degree from State University of New York School of Medicine in Buffalo, New York. She completed her internship at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania, her ophthalmology residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the University of Michigan's Kellogg Eye Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. Rosenthal is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is an examiner for other physicians applying for board certification. She is section chief of the Ophthalmology division at Phoenix Children's, a member of the wellbeing committee and sits on the Institutional Review Board at Phoenix Children's. In addition, Dr. Rosenthal is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Dr. Rosenthal was drawn to work with children during her medical training. She understands that every child is unique, and she tailors treatment to meet their specific needs. Dr. Rosenthal enjoys getting to know the children she cares for, and she works to ensure that her patients and their families feel comfortable with their experience.
In her spare time, Dr. Rosenthal enjoys time with her children and dog. She also likes to travel and spend time with friends and family.

Dr. Figueroa is very dedicated. She does a really good job of explaining things. She truly seems to care about our daughter's well-being and the progress that she's making with her eye. And we are just very, very grateful for her.
They were very nice and patient with my daughter.
The only thing I have to say is that I have to wait 1.5 months to see Dr Rosenthal. She is great and that why we waited but I wished there was not such a long wait to see her.
