About Emilia Maria C. Cadiz, DO, FAAP

Emilia Maria C. Cadiz, DO, FAAP, is a pediatric nephrologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Cadiz sees patients in general nephrology, dialysis, and transplant clinics where she manages acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte abnormalities, cystic kidney disease, kidney stones, congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, and glomerular disease, among other pediatric kidney diseases.

Dr. Cadiz earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville in Microbiology and Cell Science as well as East Asian Languages and Literatures and her master's degree in medical science from Boston University School of Medicine. She graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. Dr. Cadiz completed her pediatric residency training, where she served as third-year chief resident, and trained as a fellow in pediatric nephrology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA.

Board certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Cadiz is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology (ASPN), where she serves on several committees. She is also a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA), Women in Nephrology (WIN), and the Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium (PNRC).

Dr. Cadiz is committed to medical education and has experience with process improvement and clinical informatics. She serves as a Pediatric Core Faculty member with the Phoenix Children's Residency Program Alliance. Her faculty appointments include Assistant Professor in Department of Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix, Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, and Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Creighton University School of Medicine. Dr. Cadiz has presented at prestigious medical conferences nationally and internationally.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Cadiz enjoys spending time with her family, cooking new recipes with her husband, planning travel adventures, rooting for the Florida Gators, and researching the next local activity or restaurant to explore.
