About Eric M. Peters, MD
Eric M. Peters, MD, is Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Phoenix Children's Arrowhead Campus. Dr. Peters cares for critically ill children of all ages in the intensive care unit, including those who have sepsis and respiratory failure.
Dr. Peters graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed his medical training in Los Angeles - first as a pediatric resident at the University of California Los Angeles and then as a fellow in pediatric critical care medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Peters is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. In addition to his clinical and leadership roles at Phoenix Children's, Dr. Peters is active in graduate medical education as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.
He is also a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Peters has served as principal investigator or co-investigator for a number of research studies to improve critical care offerings to patients.
When not caring for his patients, Dr. Peters enjoys time with his children exploring all that Arizona has to offer. He also serves on the board of a foundation dedicated to helping families impacted by the loss of a child.
