About Francina P. Gardner, MD
Francina Gardner, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist with special interest in liver and kidney transplants, spine surgery and regional anesthesiology.
After completing her medical training, Dr. Gardner wanted to practice with a focus on pediatric anesthesia. As a native of Venezuela, she also wanted somewhere warm where she could care for Spanish-speaking patients and families. Phoenix Children's was the right fit.
A love for biology and learning how the human body works combined with a desire to help others led Dr. Gardner to choose medicine as a career. She earned her medical degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela School of Medicine. After completing an anesthesiology fellowship at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, she completed a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at UPMC- University of Pittsburgh Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Gardner is also certified in American Red Cross Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Gardner's goal as a provider is to care for her patients as she would like her children to be treated. When she's not working, Dr. Gardner enjoys spending time with her family, especially riding bikes and golfing with her husband. She also enjoys walks with her dogs and baking.
