About Heather A. Hanley, MD

Heather Hanley, MD, is a pediatric intensive care physician at Phoenix Children's. In addition to treating patients with critical illnesses, Dr. Hanley is committed to and active in the development of quality improvement initiatives at Phoenix Children's.

After graduating cum laude for her bachelor's degree from the University of San Diego in San Diego, Dr. Hanley earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. She completed her residency training in general pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine, also at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.

Dr. Hanley is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Hanley co-founded the quality improvement education program for fellows in the Phoenix Children's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that has generated multiple projects to ensure high quality care is provided to patients. In 2023, the program's work with quality improvement was a Phoenix Children's Quality Day winner.

In her free time, Dr. Hanley enjoys reading, cooking, swimming and spending time with her family and friends.
