About Heather M. Menzer, MD
Heather M. Menzer, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in sports medicine. Dr. Menzer focuses on the individual needs of her patients, providing care that makes them feel comfortable while being confident in her as a provider. Her greatest reward as a doctor is seeing patients overcome injuries and return to their normal level of activity.
As a high school athlete, Dr. Menzer had injuries that required ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair and additional knee surgeries.
"I know the value and impact of a great doctor on a young person and their family," says Dr. Menzer. Her surgeon became a mentor, and through her experience, she became interested in caring for athletes.
The opportunity to care for young athletes and an "amazing group of patients" drew Dr. Menzer to Phoenix Children's. She enjoys being part of a supportive team of doctors and staff, as well as the opportunity to be part of teaching and training the next generation of doctors.
Dr. Menzer values spending time with her husband and two daughters when she's not working, including serving as their chauffeur to extracurricular activities. She enjoys traveling and staying fit by running and riding Peloton.

I was impressed with the amount of time spent with my child and that she checked of doing an X-ray while we were there so that it wouldn't have to be done at a later date should my child decide to do surgery
Dr. Menzer s a wonderful doctor
My son broke his arm, and it's been really traumatic, especially at one year old. I was so impressed with all of the care that he received. I got to see his x-rays. The provider was really great. She actually went, and got another book of x-rays to show me how things heal at different ages to show me that although it looks bad, that it should heal fine, and that they'll continuously be working on his care. Explained to me the difference between bone healing in children versus adults. Really took the time to explain things to me. I really just appreciated that little bit extra. It really went a long way to making me feel a little bit better about this situation.
All staff were friendly and professional . My son was very well taken care of. Very satisfied with the services.
