Jared Gilliland, DDS, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Phoenix Children's. His practice specializes in correcting congenital, developmental and acquired surgical problems of the mouth, jaws, face and temporomandibular joints, as well as facial trauma. This expertise includes the management of patients requiring orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery/replacement and treatment of pathologic conditions.The opportunity to care for children as part of the Phoenix Children's cleft and craniofacial team was an opportunity Dr. Gilliland could not pass up. Dr. Gilliland had the unique opportunity to travel to Belize on a medical mission trip to treat children with craniofacial deformities. This sparked his interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. He completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University in Waco and his dental training at Baylor College of Dentistry. He then went on to complete his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Gilliland is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Gilliland believes his work can have an immediate and long-lasting impact on his patients' lives.
