Jessica Burns, MD, specializes in pediatric orthopedics, caring for patients with conditions such as trauma, hip dysplasia, scoliosis, limb deformity and skeletal dysplasia. Getting to know and understand her patients and their families guides Dr. Burns in providing the best care possible.

"I take time to listen so we can share treatment decisions," she says. Dr. Burns is passionate about the possibilities orthopedics offers to improve a child's ability to move and function. Whether treatment involves observation, casting, bracing or even surgery, she and the families decide together the best care for the child's needs.

"I love getting to know families and watching children improve and enjoy their world," says Dr. Burns.

Breaking her arm in second grade spurred her interest in medicine. Science classes fed her curiosity, and then as a college student she observed a surgery that locked in her decision to become a doctor. Impacting a child's ability to function drew her to pediatric orthopedics. She values the supportive Phoenix Children's culture and enjoys working with people who genuinely care about children and doing what's best for them.

In her free time, Dr. Burns loves spending time with her husband, two children and their dog. She's a snowboarder and enjoys other exercise too.
