About Jessica L. Chiang, MD
As a neonatologist, Jessica Chiang, MD, cares for newborns with complex medical needs. Every day, she is inspired by the neonatology team around her. Dr. Chiang appreciates the opportunity to work with these experts caring for tiny, fragile patients.
Dr. Chiang first felt the fulfillment of helping someone feel better when her younger sister would get hurt playing or not feel well when they were children. That gratification inspired her to pursue a career in pediatrics.
After earning her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Illinois, Dr. Chiang completed a pediatric residency at Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. She then stayed to complete a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship.
Dr. Chiang is certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She's also certified in the American Heart Association's pediatric advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation programs.
When it comes to patient care, Dr. Chiang believes in the team approach. She works with families - as well as other members of the medical team - to provide her patients the best care possible.
When she's not working, Dr. Chiang enjoys exploring the world with her toddler and watching movies and television shows.
