About Karen E. Papez, MD
Dr. Papez received her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine - Reno, NV. She completed her residency program here in Phoenix at Phoenix Children's Hospital and Maricopa Medical Center. She completed her fellowship training at the University of Michigan Medical Center - Ann Arbor, MI. She has been at Phoenix Children's since 2007 and involved in the care of pediatric transplant patients since 2003.
Dr. Papez served as Chief Resident at Phoenix Children's Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center Pediatrics Residency Program during her residency.
Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society for Pediatric Nephrology International Pediatric Nephrology Association and the American Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Papez has research interest in Acute Renal Failure in Infants; Dialysis in Infants; Acute Renal Failure after Cardiac Surgery; and Renal Replacement in the Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Papez is board-certified in Pediatrics and board eligible in Pediatric Nephrology.
