About Karen R. Dunivant, CPNP
Karen Dunivant, CPNP, earned both her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science from Arizona State University. She worked in pediatrics as a registered nurse for 16 years before returning to school to obtain her Master of Science Degree and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification and has worked at Phoenix Children's as a CPNP since 2004.
A native to Arizona, she has been married for 28 years and has six children between the ages of 30 and 19 years old. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, working out, reading and cooking.
The most rewarding part of her job is taking care of children and their families. She is proud to be a part of Phoenix Children's because it is an organization that is 100 percent about the children and goes above and beyond to provide nationally recognized, excellent care.

Karen was incredible with my daughter. She explained everything in terms that my daughter (intellect disability) could understand and went above and beyond making her feel comfortable talking about something my daughter feels embarrassed about.

We really appreciated the time we spent with Karen. She explained things beautifully, was curious about my son's experiences, and presented us with many options. Very happy with our visit. The office staff were friendly and helpful, too.
The way the provider asked my son for his input about his health and what he thought the issues were was wonderful.
Provider was great. She gave lots of information but made it easy to understand. Listened to all my concerns and even made sure my child understood and was comfortable with the decisions made.
Karen explained a lot of things to me Regarding what she had handled with my granddaughter before and things they had tried To help with her condition. We talked about some things that we could try to deal with her situation and whether to start her on some medication or not. She really explained things very well and gave us options and I have a very good feeling regarding this provider, especially that she is very caring and willing to work with us, however we decided regarding my granddaughters condition. It was very much appreciated and I feel we will get a handle on things based on her suggestions and medication. I would gladly go back to Karen for any further problems and we are scheduled for a follow up in a couple of weeks to see how things are going.

Karen is an amazing provider and we are extremely happy with the advice, services, and suggestions she provides. She takes her time to explain to my teenager and listens attentively for what my daughter has to say. She also, makes sure that my daughter and I understand the medication she is giving, the careful instructions to follow, and what she will be experiencing. Thank you Karen!
