About Kathleen (Katie) E. Klas, RN, FA, MS, CPNP-AC/PC

Kathleen (Katie) E. Klas, RN, FA, MS, CPNP-AC/PC, is a pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in neurosurgery. Her team approach to care includes both children and their families, focusing on guiding and educating them on all aspects of care.

Katie began caring for children as a babysitter when she was 10. She worked as a nurse's aide when she was 16, and for her pediatrician while she earned her nursing degree. That lifelong love for kids led Katie to become a pediatric nurse. "Amazing nurses" in her family, during training and on the job, inspired her to advocate for her patients and provide the highest level of care possible.

Working with her mentor, Phoenix Children's neurosurgeon Kim Manwaring, MD, is what aroused Katie's interest in neurosurgery. "I have a true passion for helping patients and their families get the most out of life and overcome hurdles that might be in their path," Katie says.

When she's not working, Katie enjoys spending time camping and hiking with her family. She's also involved in the Phoenix Children's Chorus, where her own children perform. In addition, Katie loves cooking and baking and feeds her enthusiasm for wellness with her love for running.

The doctor was every nice she explained every very well.

Thank you. Our healthcare provider provided a lot of great information, listened to our concerns, and connected us with good therapists. Thank you.

Medical staff was very thorough and cared about the well being of my child.

Best service, all the time

After my visit with this provider, I ended up changing the care plan I had thought I had wanted for my child due to her confidence, her experience, and her personal...

She was amazing and the ideal person to see our daughter. She gave her information that our daughter was able to really 'hear' and apply. Our daughter began following her recommendations immediately after we left. We are grateful to have met with her yesterday. ?

The provider provided one of the clearest medical explanations I have heard. She was clear and easy to understand. She patiently answered any questions.

Kathleen Kass is an amazing provider and Dr. She took the time to sit with us and analyze my daughter on multiple check points. She answered all of my questions and used language that was friendly to myself and/or my daughter. I feel as though we are in great hands!

Fast and easy understanding everything was a breeze for my daughter

Most thorough and reassuring appointment, thank you!

Katie was excellent. She spoke to us in a very relatable way and respected us as parents and caretakers for our son. We look forward to future appointments with her.
