About Korwyn L. Williams, MD, PhD

Korwyn Williams, MD, PhD, FAAN, FAES, is a pediatric neurologist at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Williams is skilled in clinical neurophysiology and treatments for epilepsy.

After earning his bachelor's degree with distinction from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Williams earned his medical degree and a doctorate in biochemistry from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his medical training - including residencies in pediatrics and child neurology, and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology - at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Williams is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology and child neurology. He is a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix, as well as an assistant professor of neurology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.

In 2021 Dr. Williams was named the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona's Provider of the Year. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society, as well as a member of the Child Neurology Foundation, the Phoenix Children's Neurology Division Shared Governance Council and the Functional Neurological Disorders Clinical Pathways Workgroup. Dr. Williams is a frequently invited speaker at annual meetings of the American Academy of Neurology on topics including pediatric epilepsy and appropriate medical coding.

In his free time, Dr. Williams enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
