About Lana M. Volz, MD
Lana Marie Volz, MD, FASA, is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Volz is skilled at providing infants, children and adolescents with sedation, general anesthesia, regional anesthesia and acute pain management.
Dr. Volz earned her bachelor's degree and medical degree with research honors from the University of Wisconsin before completing an internal medicine internship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Volz trained as a resident in anesthesiology and a fellow in pediatric anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian and Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.
Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Volz is a fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She is also a member of the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, the Arizona Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia.
Committed to graduate and continuing medical education, Dr. Volz is a clinical associate professor of anesthesiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson. While at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Volz was named the Anesthesiology Faculty Teacher of the Year Award given by graduating anesthesia residents and she also received the Child Life Award for providing outstanding patient-and family-centered care.
In her free time, Dr. Volz enjoys being with her family, doing yoga, traveling and volunteering.
