Lara Hoover, MD, is a pediatrician at Phoenix Children's Pediatrics who provides comprehensive care for patients from birth through adolescence. Dr. Hoover has a special interest in childhood nutrition and obesity prevention and dermatologic conditions.

Dr. Hoover appreciates the warm and welcoming culture at Phoenix Children's Pediatrics. She also enjoys working collaboratively with Phoenix Children's specialists to help meet each patient's unique needs.

After finishing her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, Dr. Hoover earned her medical degree from the University of Queensland Ochsner Medical Program, which provides pre-clinical studies in Brisbane, Australia and clinical work in New Orleans. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at the University of Chicago in Chicago. Dr. Hoover is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Women's Medical Association.

Dr. Hoover was born with a passion for medicine and helping others. In high school, she sought opportunities to shadow physicians and knew she wanted the same fulfilling career. After completing a medical mission trip with her childhood pediatrician, she realized the positive impact that serving others can have. Dr. Hoover was also greatly inspired by the enthusiastic providers she worked with during medical school and her training.

Dr. Hoover provides her patients and their families with a calm and nurturing environment. She encourages a team approach to care and strives to always listen to each patient's needs. She works to address concerns and believes that honesty paves the way to informed decisions. She enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients and their families. Her goal is to provide compassionate care from infancy through adolescence.

A native of Texas, Dr. Hoover believes that her global education and experiences with people from around the world give her a unique perspective on how to interact with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
