About Natasha S. Bala, MD

Natasha Bala, MD, MS, is a pediatric hematologist in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Bala treats children with blood disorders, and she has specialized training in pediatrics, hemostasis, thrombosis and hematology and oncology.

After earning her medical degree at Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in
Mumbai, India, Dr. Bala completed her pediatrics residency at State University New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She trained as a fellow in pediatric hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplantation at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She also completed an additional fellowship training in pediatric hemostasis and thrombosis at Rady Children's Hospital/University of California, San Diego which focused on bleeding and clotting disorders in children.

Dr. Bala is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and she is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and its section of Hematology & Oncology. She is also a member of the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, the Foundation of Women and Girls with Blood Disorders and the American Society of Hematology.

In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Bala earned her master's degree in clinical research from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Bala has published research in notable peer-reviewed publications including Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Blood Advances and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.

In her free time, Dr. Bala enjoys exploring new hiking areas with her husband and practicing yoga.
