"About Nicholas A. Tanner, PhD
Nicholas Tanner, PhD, is a pediatric psychologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Tanner provides children of all ages with an extensive range of mental health services designed to help families feel understood, supported and empowered throughout the diagnostic and treatment process. Dr. Tanner has specialized training to assess and treat children with autism spectrum disorders and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
Dr. Tanner earned both his master's degree and his doctorate in school psychology from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He completed his post-doctoral training at Gentry Pediatric Behavioral Services in Phoenix.
In addition to his role in patient care, Dr. Tanner participates in program development, scheduling coordination and interdisciplinary communication to facilitate clinic operations and optimize access to diagnostic services. He has published research on screening methods to identify behavioral and emotional risk factors in publications, including School Psychology Review, the Journal of Applied School Psychology and School Psychology.
In his free time, Dr. Tanner enjoys cooking and exploring the outdoors with his wife and children.
