About Priya A. Patel, MD

As a pediatrician, Priya Patel, MD, builds trusting relationships with patients and families. She advocates for her patients and provides high-quality care.

A desire to be close to family brought Dr. Patel to Phoenix Children's Pediatrics. However, what inspires her to stay is carrying out the organization's mission: "to provide hope, healing and the best healthcare for children and families."

Dr. Patel received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin and earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in Coolidge, Antigua. She then completed a pediatric residency at Baylor Scott and White McLane Children's Medical Center in Temple, Texas.

A trip with her parents to their native India motivated Dr. Patel's career choice. She was shocked to see so many underfed, sick children begging for money, food and a warm place to live. Dr. Patel wondered why they weren't in a hospital, even though they seemed to need medical care. She realized during that trip what she wanted to do with her life. She yearns for all children to have access to proper medical treatment and feels that caring for children is one of the most rewarding things she has ever done.

When she's not working, Dr. Patel loves spending time with her large, extended family. She also enjoys sharing her time and talents volunteering with nonprofit organizations.

This provider went above and beyond seeing my son last minute with a minor emergency, I appreciate that so much, as I was a concerned parent and needed immediate assistance

The Dr. Patel was absolutely above and beyond. Not only did she meet every care of my child and all my questions and concerns, she did answer them and follow through and she was really great and attentive, educational, but polite and customer-friendly. It was just a really great experience and I'm very grateful to be a part of Phoenix Children's. Not only was she above and beyond, but also the nurse that was taking care of her was above and beyond. We've seen her about four or five times, both the nurse and the doctor, and every single time is absolutely amazing. Very grateful that we have providers like this that truly care about the patients and the family and answer the parents' questions in a concerning, polite way.

Dr. Patel and her MA were great. I wish I got the MA's name but she was a pro at giving my 4 year old her vaccine.

Dr Patel is absolutely amazing. I feel lucky to have found her. I couldn't imagine seeing any other practitioner now. She's the best.

Dr Patel is great and very good at explaining everything, to my son.

Dr. Patel took her time and gave detailed explanations during our visit. The nurse was considerate and friendly.

Dr Patel is very polite and thorough.

I really enjoyed my provider. She was very knowledgeable and very nice. I came back two days later with my other son, and she remembered my first son and was following up about his care in a kind manner. She seemed very knowledgeable and very patient and kind.
