About Rajeev Bhatia, MD

Rajeev Bhatia, MD, is a pediatric pulmonologist who also serves as division chief of pulmonology at Phoenix Children's.

Dr. Bhatia earned his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, India. He went on to complete his pediatric residency at Maimonides Children's Hospital in New York. He also completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in California. He has multiple professional affiliations and serves as an elected member of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Executive Committee of the Section on Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. He's also serving as a Pulmonary Program chairperson for their national meetings from 2023 to 2025.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bhatia is involved in research to further his field. He received the "Excellence in Research" award from the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in 2011.

Dr. Bhatia has presented at multiple forums about breathing problems in children during exercise. He was also invited to present at the American Academy of Pediatrics 2022 National Conference & Exhibition about long COVID and dyspnea.

In his practice, Dr. Bhatia believes that patient care should be efficient, empathic, and equitable. He enjoys the challenge and fulfillment that his work brings.

Outside of work, Dr. Bhatia likes to travel with his family. He also enjoys sketching, but with his limited free time, he settles for doodling.
