What led you to your career as a neurology doctor?
I always wanted to be a physician! While in medical school my mother suffered from a neurologic disorder. I accompanied her to all her neurologic evaluations. I was impressed as to how neurologists think and analyze the questions they are faced with!

What is the best thing about your job?
I love it when I am able to make a difference in a family’s life. I also love seeing my kids (patients) grow right before my eyes.

Have you received a special gift of thanks or piece of artwork from a child?
Many! from drawings to sand art!

What is your favorite children’s book?
Little Bunny Foo Foo. I read it to my kids so many times.

How do you go about calming a child’s fears, aside from the wonderful work of the Child Life team?
I try to talk to them at their level, play with them and examine them through play

How do you build trust with a parent?
I think listening to the parents’ concerns and providing them with easy access to be in touch with them is very important

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to travel. I love to spend time with my family, play Uno and we all love movies!

What is your favorite local restaurant?
We all love good burgers wherever they are.

Can you tell us about your family?
I have two daughters, Amar and Yasmine and my husband Bashar. The rest of our families live in Jordan. We always miss them but visit them yearly.

Where are you originally from, and how did you get here?
I am from Amman, Jordan. I came to Phoenix via Minnesota. I moved here because of the great potential that Phoenix Children's Hospital has, I wanted to be part of it! And because I had close friends in town.

Dr. Jarrar is amazing. We appreciate how she listens to our concerns.

Dr Jarrar is the best! We are lucky to have her as our son's doctor!

Dr. Jarrar is a caring and wonderful doctor. She listens to my concerns that I have for my son.

Dr. Jarrar is one of the best providers we have had the pleasure of working with. She takes her time, she cares, and has greatly improved my daughter's health.

We love Dr. Jarrar she has always been quick to respond to our concerns. Dr Jarrar is never rushed and you get the feeling that she truly cares!

Dr. Jarred was very nice and kind. She is very beautiful and attactive and has a very sweet voice. The nurse that toom my daughters vitals was very beautiful and sweet too.

Dr. Jarrar is the best doctor that my daughter has ever had and I trust her with her life.

I just wanted to say that Dr. Girard has been such a blessing to not only just my child but other children in my family as well. She's always gone above and beyond to help us and make us feel comfortable in their diagnosis. As well as her assistant Vicki, she always answers promptly and helps us as we are trying to get answers to things and everything else. They're a really great team and we love having them.

We are happy we finally got an appointment with an epilepsy specialist. Dr. Jarrar is wonderful... the hardest part was waiting to see her.
