About Raul Galvez-Trevino, MD

Raul Galvez-Trevino, MD, is a pediatric radiologist specializing in cardiac imaging, nuclear medicine, fetal imaging and musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Galvez-Trevino was previously chairman of the Department of Radiology at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. The leadership and quality of compassionate care led him to join Phoenix Children's.

The lives and work of past leaders in medicine - including Rudolf Virchow, Louis Pasteur and Sir William Osler - inspired Dr. Galvez-Trevino to become a provider. After earning his medical degree at La Salle University, Mexico School of Medicine in Mexico City, he earned a master's degree in genetic epidemiology and public health from the University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, California. He then completed several other training programs, including a diagnostic radiology residency with Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Galvez-Trevino served as chief fellow during his pediatric radiology fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. Most recently, he completed a stem cell therapy and anti-aging, metabolic and functional medicine fellowships with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine in Boca Raton, Florida.

In addition, Dr. Galvez-Trevino has also completed training in pediatric cardiovascular MRI and cardiac MRI with the American College of Radiology. He's earned Level 2 verification of training in cardiovascular CT from the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He's certified in pediatric advanced life support, advanced trauma life support and as an advanced cardiac life support instructor.

Dr. Galvez-Trevino is certified in pediatric radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Pediatric Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the American Academy of Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine. Dr. Galvez-Trevino is fluent in five languages.

When it comes to his patients, Dr. Galvez-Trevino cares for them as if they were his own. He believes love, fun and smiles make the heart grow healthier faster.

Dr. Galvez-Trevino is certified as a master sommelier and has completed 44 marathons and more than 200 triathlons. He's also an avid fan of Formula 1 racing. When he's not working, Dr. Galvez-Trevino enjoys mountain climbing, scuba diving, cooking with his family and going on medical missions.
