Dr. Stanford earned his medical degree from Midwestern University Arizona followed by residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York University. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric rehabilitation medicine at New York Presbyterian/Columbia. He is board certified in both general physical medicine and rehabilitation and pediatric rehabilitation medicine. A large portion of time spent in fellowship was at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center specifically in pediatric oncology rehabilitation. Another focus of fellowship training was with ultrasound and estim guided procedures for spasticity treatment. Dr. Stanford has published medical articles on the topic of cancer rehabilitation and spasticity management in cerebral palsy.

Dr. Stanford has a passion for medical education and currently serves as the associate program director for the Honor Health Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency, has had the opportunity to instruct in multiple ultrasound courses and is an assistant professor University of Arizona College of Medicine. He is also an active mentor of medical students.

Dr. Stanford is an active advocate for the profession of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation serving as Vice President of the Arizona Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Stanford and his wife, a physician assistant in orthopedics, have three children, they enjoy the outdoors hiking, rafting as well playing board and trading card games. He also enjoys cheering for the Diamondbacks, running and has many musical interests as well.
