About Renata M. Miketic, MD

Renata Miketic, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Miketic provides a wide range of services - including general anesthesia, sedation and pain management - for children who require surgery or medical procedures.

First drawn to the warm and welcoming atmosphere at Phoenix Children's, Dr. Miketic believes that her patients and colleagues are what make the environment so special.

Dr. Miketic holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, and earned her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Netherlands Antilles. Dr. Miketic completed a surgical internship at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, and two years of surgical residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California before changing specialties to anesthesia. She went on to complete her anesthesiology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, and her pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

A diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Miketic is also board certified in pediatric anesthesiology. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia. Dr. Miketic's research has appeared in peer-reviewed medical journals including the Journal of Medical Cases, Orthopedic Research and Reviews and the Pediatric Anesthesia and Critical Care Journal. She has presented at national conferences including the annual meeting of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Miketic knew from the age of five that she wanted to become a doctor and care for children. She was inspired by the care she received from her own pediatrician, and she treats each of her patients and their families with respect and kindness.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Miketic enjoys playing golf, tennis and pickleball as well as hiking and traveling.
