About Reuben A. Bueno, MD, MBA
Reuben A. Bueno, Jr., MD, MBA, is a hand and reconstructive plastic surgeon at Phoenix Children's. He serves as the section chief of Pediatric Hand and Microvascular Surgery and brings over 20 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and leader in plastic surgery.
Dr. Bueno earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed an integrated plastic surgery residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. Following his time as a resident, Dr. Bueno went on to complete fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He completed an additional fellowship in pediatric plastic surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Board certified in plastic surgery and hand surgery, Dr. Bueno is a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS). Dr. Bueno has held faculty positions at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and the Frist College of Medicine at Belmont University. Over his career, he has served as residency training program director, section chief, division chief, department chair, and associate dean.
