About Ricardo A. Medina-Centeno, MD
As a pediatric gastroenterologist, Ricardo A. Medina-Centeno, MD, cares for children with digestive health conditions and their families. Dr. Medina-Centeno specializes in treating issues that affect how food moves through the body. These challenging conditions can be difficult to understand and manage.
Personal experiences, mentors and children's resiliency drew Dr. Medina-Centeno to pediatrics. He saw compassion at work when he volunteered during summers with his own primary care physician.
"I realized that I wanted to help others and especially care for children," he says. Dr. Medina-Centeno discovered his passion for gastroenterology and motility disorders during medical school and his fellowship training.
Dr. Medina-Centeno values the multidisciplinary care offered at Phoenix Children's. He's excited about opportunities to develop programs and new therapies that provide better care and improve children's lives.
When he's not working, Dr. Medina-Centeno enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, and discovering new activities and places.
