About Shanna L. White, MD, MS, MBA

As a pediatrician specializing in pediatric hematology/oncology, Shanna Lauren White, MD, diagnoses and treats blood disorders and cancers in children. Dr. White has a special interest in nonmalignant hematology and gene therapy.

Dr. White was drawn to Phoenix Children's by the depth of resources for patients and the supportive community of physicians and staff. She is dedicated to pursuing her passion as part of an encouraging team.

In college, Dr. White was interested in the immune system and the intricacies of cancer, leading her to shift her studies from veterinary medicine to human medicine. Dr. White earned her medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine. She completed a pediatric internship and residency at the OSF Healthcare Children's Hospital of Illinois and subsequently went on to do a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles Mattel Children's Hospital. Additionally, she has a master's in healthcare management from Davenport University.

Dr. White is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She's also a member of the American Society of Gene + Cell Therapy, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

As a researcher, Dr. White has contributed to advancing her field. She has published widely and presented at numerous professional meetings and seminars.

Dr. White believes providing the best patient care requires a team effort, including the medical team, as well as, the patients and their caretakers. She realizes that each person has something important to contribute on the path to patient wellness and that every patient has a unique journey, requiring a personalized approach.

When she's not working, Dr. White enjoys traveling, especially to visit family and friends. She enjoys cooking, baking, sewing and being in nature.

Dr. White is an AMAZING, caring and compassionate provider. We are so lucky to ha e her as our sons doctor. The nurses at the office are incredible. They were patient and so sweet to my son and tried their best to make him feel as comfortable as he could be.we love all the staff in this office.

Dr. White is compassionate and kind. We have such a deep appreciation for what she does and who she is.

I did not have much interaction with a nurse. But Dr White was very helpful and personable with my child.
