Shilpi S. Mangla, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Phoenix Children's. She provides a wide range of services including general anesthesia, sedation and pain management for children who need surgery or medical procedures.

Having grown up in Phoenix, Dr. Mangla values the services provided by Phoenix Children's, as well as the organization's commitment to serving the children of Arizona and the Southwest. She enjoys working with colleagues across medical specialties and uses a team approach to patient care.

Dr. Mangla spent several years completing her robust education in Chicago - she graduated with a degree in molecular biochemistry and biophysics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a master's degree in anatomy and cell biology from RUSH University and her medical degree from RUSH Medical College. She completed her anesthesiology residency training at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Danville, Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California.

Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in pediatric anesthesiology, Dr. Mangla is a member of the Arizona Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Mangla believes in a holistic approach to patient care, and she spends time listening to her patients and their families to ensure they understand the different elements required to provide the best care. She was led to her career in medicine by a love of biology and admiration for her childhood family doctor who helped her parents manage her sister's asthma. Dr. Mangla works to support her patients with compassion and information as they manage their medical conditions.

When not caring for her patients, Dr. Mangla enjoys baking and cooking with her kids and family, in addition to enjoying the great weather and activities Arizona has to offer.
