Although it is not generally a patient-facing specialty, the laboratory is central to patient care and has a responsibility to ensure high-quality patient results. I am also very passionate about connecting and collaborating with other specialties to ensure the laboratory is meeting the needs of patients and physicians, as well as educating others about laboratory services.
